Back to about section

For many years, Jannelli&Volpi has focused on and implemented its commitment to the environment thanks to a diverse and highly skilled team.

Waste Management

The first step for JV towards proper waste management was to identify waste sources and manage their flow. Each source is handled separately in an effort to reduce waste production, with great attention paid to keeping flows well-differentiated by waste type. For each waste type, a specific disposal process is defined in compliance with legal requirements and GREEN pathways. JV's waste mainly consists of: second-choice materials, startup papers, and inks.

Second-Choice Materials

Our second-choice materials do not become production waste but are reintroduced into the market through circular economy processes that transform them into new products, enhancing their aesthetics and technical qualities.

Startup Papers and Inks

In a Circular Economy approach, the startup process uses 100% natural papers, colored with water-based inks, which are later transformed into confetti or pulp to be recovered for new paper production.
All inks used in our production processes, both in rotary and digital technologies, are eco-friendly and water-based. All new latex and UV inks are Green Guard Gold certified and comply with the latest European environmental standards.

Water Management

At JV, all wastewater from production departments is treated in an internal purification plant. This facility enables chemical, physical, and biological purification, returning water that could potentially be repurposed for domestic use.
Additionally, process water circuits (cooling) have been redesigned to make them reusable and drastically reduce consumption from the water supply network.

Energy Consumption

Over the years, JV has progressively reduced energy consumption by investing in proper management of energy-intensive systems and new consumption monitoring and control technologies. The gradual implementation of digital printing technologies and major planned investments will allow us to further optimize energy consumption in the future.
80% of JV’s roofs are covered with photovoltaic panels, generating clean energy for about 24.5% of the company’s production needs.

Certifications

JV has obtained environmental certifications and recognitions for its products and production processes. Request our FSC®-certified products.
