Marimekko returns with iconic designs interpreted by new production techniques for the new collection Wallcoverings Marimekko 07 by Jannelli&Volpi. Its unmistakable mark for more than seventy years expressed in fashion and design, in fact, makes its patterns unique, both historical and newly created, and they constitute, for modernity and innovation, a great source of inspiration for the interior world as well. Maija Louekari's abstract Hyräily (humming) pattern was hand-painted with a thick brush. This striped pattern painted with a relaxed hand follows the rhythm of humming. According to the designer, hand painting accentuates the carefree beauty of everyday life: we don't always have to have only straight lines and right angles.
